Ethan Allen, as part of its ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity, has donated a range of home goods to Housatonic Habitat for Humanity for resale in its ReStore at 51 Austin Street, Danbury. See the Danbury ReStore Facebook account for upcoming sales!
Last year, Ethan Allen donated close to 4,000 products to Habitat ReStores across the U.S. and Canada. This year’s additional donations should bring estimated total donations to 48,000 with a total estimated retail value of more than $19 million. “Creating happy homes is what we do best,” said Marybeth Wisnieski, District Design Manager at Ethan Allen’s Danbury Design Center. “We’re thrilled to help families achieve their dreams of homeownership, and we’re proud to support Housatonic Habitat for work in our community.”
Proceeds from the sale of products, which range from rugs to lighting, will support Housatonic Habitat in its mission to help families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable home ownership.
“We are grateful for Ethan Allen’s partnership,” said Fran Normann, Executive Director of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity which serves the greater Danbury region. “Our relationship with Ethan Allen dates back to 2002 when the corporation was a house sponsor for a local family. Since then, Ethan Allen has supported our mission in several ways: by donating products to our ReStore thrift warehouse; sponsoring a Housatonic Habitat home; and by partnering with us in a Lunch and Learn luncheon program for Realtors with NFCAR and Ridgefield Board of Realtors.”
About Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. Households often consist of those who have limited assets and who have jobs that also have income caps. By providing decent, affordable, safe housing to qualified regional families (who earn approximately 66% of the median area income), Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community. This process transitions families from renters to homeowners who pay taxes; it helps stabilize a family’s fixed expenses; and enables households to build equity for their future.
