Come on over and meet “Pysanka” egg painter Moki Kokoris at the first annual Crafts n’ Drafts at the Danbury Elks Lodge No 120, 36 Hollow Rd, on Saturday, September 21st from 6 -9. Kokoris will not only demonstrate but show you how you can create these one of a kind treasures in your own home.
Says Kokoris,” “Pysanka,” is a thousand-year-old form of egg painting originating in Ukraine. The practice involves writing on the eggs in such a way that the symbols take on specific spiritual meaning”.
Ridgefielder Kokoris, portrait artist, illustrator and graphic designer, devotes much of her time to environmental advocacy and stewardship through her 90-North Outreach Education Program sharing her experience and passion for the Artic. The program is affiliated with the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
