Housatonic Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Fran Normann presents CityCenter’s PJ Prunty with a “copy” of the recently published “Guide to Local Thrift & Consignment Shops”. The free guide lists more than a dozen thrifts, including Habitat’s ReStore. “Thrifts and consignment shops not make environmental AND economic sense,” Normann said, “We also create a unique and fun shopping experience that often supports a mission.”
Look for the Guide at CityCenter, and in participating stores and at hotels in the area. Also watch for details on a thrift shop fair centered around a Farmer’s Market on the Green this summer. “Visit our website and see the guide online,” Normann added. Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, which has been serving Western Connecticut since 1991, operates a 10,000 square foot thrift warehouse at 51 Austin Street, Danbury, which is open to the public. The warehouse supports Habitat’s mission of building affordable housing for first-time homeowners in the greater Danbury area. For copies contact Kara at firstname.lastname@example.org.
