Members of the Ridgefield Thrift Shop voted to make a contribution of $1500 to Housatonic Habitat for Humanity earlier this spring. Housatonic Habitat focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. The Ridgefield Thrift Shop is thankful for Housatonic Habitat’s mission of building homes for qualified working families, which in turn helps strengthen our local communities and makes them a great place in which to live.
The Ridgefield Thrift Shop recently celebrated its 80th year of supporting various organizations like Housatonic Habitat that impact the people of Ridgefield. What began in 1937 as a small store with a primary mission to support the District Nursing Association continues to grow necessitating the recent move to a new location at 21B Governor Street in the Donnelly Plaza in Ridgefield.
