WCSU Marketing Students take classroom education into the marketplace, focusing on Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
WCSU Marketing majors have been studying what makes the Housatonic ReStore tick and how it can better meet the expectations of donors and customers. WCSU Associate Professor Xiaoqi Han led the WCSU team who worked with ReStore Assistant Manager Michelle Barney, Admin Morgan O’Brien, BOD John Gonski of People’s United Bank, and Executive Director Fran Normann.
“The research project with WCSU” Normann said, “is part of a broader marketing focus which has included a new website, frequent Facebook postings, our ReStore truck ‘Billboard’ program, and, our collaboration with other thrifts in our region.” Students presented their findings to Housatonic Habitat at the end of the semester. This second semester, students from the Ancell School of Business and Prof. Bob Watson’s Capstone program are working on a marketing plan. Volunteers with marketing expertise are welcome. Contact Fran Normann and be part of Housatonic Habitat’s growth.
